Easy Scrapbook Ideas

Scrapbooks have many purposes - they can hold your family photos, post cards, letters, artwork and more. You can craft one for yourself or for a gift. Here are some easy scrapbook projects to inspire you.

Family scrapbooks.

Create a family scrapbook to tell the story of your family. The first thing to do is to collect all the photos, letters and other objects related to special and significant moments from your family history. You can go back in time as much as you want or as much as possible. After all the mere idea of creating a family scrapbook is to make the connection from past generations to future ones.

The next thing to do is to organize the memorabilia you've collected. It is likely that you will have a lot of photos, letters, awards, ribbons, and certificates, even a lock of hair or newspaper and magazine articles. Make copies of the documents that are important, such as marriage certificates. Than place each object in a clean scrapbook pocket and stick it to the pages. You can make pictures of the bulky objects such as jewelry pieces or quilts that cannot be placed inside the book.

Pet scrapbooks.

Pet lovers would enjoy the idea of creating a pet scrapbook for their pet friends. All you need to do is to have photos of your pet and a photo album. You can decorate the album cover using colored papers, markers and fabrics. If you prefer an elegant pet scrapbook, than get a classic hard cover photo album and stick your pet's best photo on it.

After you are done with the design, organize the items you'd like to go into the scrapbook. You can put pet photos, awards and ribbons won in competition, as well as everything else that you think might fit.

Summer scrapbook.

Craft a summer inspired scrapbook to capture the memories from your summer holiday. Stick seashells and sand over the scrapbook cover and decorate the pages with sea pictures. You can make a seashell, fish, sea start template and have it painted as many times as you want over the inner pages.

Than stick everything connected to your summer holiday inside. Plane tickets, bus tickets, a piece of a map, festival program, photos - the sky is the limit. If you've been to a vacation with your best friend than let this book be a gift for him or her. You can bet that this will be the best gift of all times to be treasured forever.

As you can see there are a number of possibilities and you will not need a lot of time nor money to create a fabulous scrapbook.

My First Day Of School

This two page spread has been designed with the Kindergartener in mind. The pages have a lot of texture, places to journal and photo ready areas. There are hand drawn embelishments, which have been colored with chalks and markers. The school bus has real rubber tires! The backpack is handmade from a demin material that is archival safe and is embellished with ribbon and totes an apple for the teacher in it's front pocket. The chalkboard is a great place to journal with a chalk pencil, galaxy marker or a gel pen which gives it the look of a real chalkboard. This might be a fun place to put the name of your childs teacher. Or you could use it as a picture frame. When our children started school for the first time, the camera came out. We took pictures before the bus came, waiting for the bus, getting on the bus and of course getting off of the bus.

If you like the lay-out for the first day of school, but you don't have the time to make one yourself, you can order this two page spread in our Pre-made Scrapbook Pages Section.
